Rockstar has officially announced that *Red Dead Redemption* (2010) is galloping onto **PS5**, **Xbox Series X|S**, **Nintendo Switch 2**, and **iOS/Android**—complete with enhancements, free upgrades, cross-save support, and Undead Nightmare included.
The classic Western returns with modern upgrades across console and mobile.
The new versions launch **December 2**, with mobile versions distributed through **Netflix Games**. As with other Netflix titles, the game will be free for subscribers.
Updates & Enhancements
Rockstar promises major technical improvements across all new platforms:
- 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
- HDR support and “enhanced image quality”
- Up to 4K resolution on supported devices
- Switch 2 enhancements include DLSS, HDR, mouse controls, and 60 FPS
Undead Nightmare, the standalone zombie expansion, is included with all versions.
Free Upgrades & Save Transfers
If you already own *Red Dead Redemption* digitally on:
- PS4
- Switch
- Xbox One (via backwards compatibility)
…you’ll get the upgraded version **free of charge**.
Players can also bring over their old save data:
- PS5 users can continue from PS4 saves
- Switch 2 users can import saves from original Switch
Who Developed the New Versions?
The updated ports were developed by **Double Eleven** and **Cast Iron Games**, working in collaboration with Rockstar.
Coming to PlayStation Plus and GTA+
On December 2, the upgraded *Red Dead Redemption* will also be added to:
- PlayStation Plus Game Catalog
- GTA+ (Rockstar’s subscription service)
What About Red Dead Redemption 2?
Rumors continue to circulate about:
- *Red Dead Redemption 2* ports for **PS5** and **Xbox Series X|S**
- A new **Switch 2** version
The rumored release window is sometime in **2025**, though Rockstar hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
