Amazon slashed over 20% off Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective, marking the first substantial discount since the collector's book launched October 28. The cloth-wrapped hardcover drops from $50 to $39.66, giving longtime fans an affordable way to dive into behind-the-scenes development stories from Retro Studios.

Piggyback designed the retrospective in collaboration with Nintendo, filling every page with full-color concept art, producer's notes, and developer insights spanning the original GameCube trilogy through 2023's remaster. Series producer Kensuke Tanabe penned the foreword, while Retro Studios developers introduce each of the four sections.

The release coincides with a wave of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond collectibles flooding retailers. Nintendo launched two of three planned Amiibo figures last week—Samus Aran ($30) and the Samus & Vi-O-La motorbike set ($40)—with Sylux arriving December 4 alongside the game itself. TOMY debuted officially licensed Club Mocchi-Mocchi plushies, including a 13.5-inch Samus Helmet and 12-inch Morph Ball, both priced at $39.

"Not only is it an entertaining read, but it's a truly gorgeous book that would look great displayed on any bookcase or display shelf." — Long-time Metroid Fan

PowerA expanded its licensed accessory lineup with a $70 wireless Metroid controller featuring Samus and galactic artwork, plus themed carrying cases for Switch 2 owners and crossbody bags for original Switch consoles. Jakks Pacific rounded out the merchandise drop with budget-friendly action figure packs at Walmart, including three 2.5-inch Samus figures for $15 and a $25 ultraviolet glow-in-the-dark Metroid.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond launches December 4 with dual-platform preorders live at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and GameStop. The Switch 2 version runs $70, while the original Switch edition costs $60. Amazon currently stocks both Nintendo Switch 2 console bundles—Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Mario Kart World—at $499 each for players looking to experience Prime 4 in 4K resolution.
