Konami and NeoBards Entertainment have released a new update for Silent Hill f, adding a brand-new Casual action difficulty alongside a number of system tweaks and bug fixes.
The Casual difficulty can be chosen right from the start or unlocked after dying multiple times on higher action settings. The update also introduces an optional skip feature for New Game+, allowing returning players to bypass certain early sections without affecting branching paths or endings—though some achievements will be disabled on runs that use this feature.
The patch also makes gameplay noticeably easier across the board. Hinako’s stamina now regenerates faster, enemy counts have been reduced in various areas, and several previously unskippable combat encounters can now be avoided. Even the Hard difficulty has been slightly adjusted to reduce incoming damage.
Silent Hill f launched in September and sold more than 1 million copies in its first 24 hours, outperforming the Silent Hill 2 remake. Meanwhile, Bloober Team is confirmed to be working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, and the next film adaptation—Return to Silent Hill—hits theaters January 23.
